Notschool.net is an on-line virtual learning community of teenagers who find themselves outside of traditional learning institutions in the long term. It offers them a community of learners, teachers, and experts who share some innovative learning tools. Notschool.net seeks to be a solution to returning some of these teenagers to learning.

NPQH
Working with DfEE (and subsequently NCSL Online), and the NPQH writing team ULTRALAB has been instrumental in moving this assessed course from a paper based, face to face qualification to a largely online course.

ULTRALAB has been working develop a supporting materials website, thus moving the learning modules from paper format to an online, easily updatable and editable database website. To allow NPQH candidates to question experts, reflect on their own learning and share good practice an NPQH community structure has been developed by ULTRALAB (using think.com) and is being facilitated by ULTRALAB's team of experienced online facilitators.

Sharing Innovations
The project in Essex is a collaborative venture between the Design Council, Ultralab at Anglia Polytechnic University, Essex LEA and Essex Schools and Colleges. It was born out of the recognition that the sharing innovation stories and access to the Millennium Products Companies would be a powerful resource in the teaching of many design based subjects at all levels, from Key stage one to A level. The vehicle for communicating with and between the schools and colleges is think.com, Oracle Corporation's powerful, safe and free internet environment.
